Help and FAQ
Short answers to the questions we hear most. If yours isn't here, get in touch.
What is Plainly?
Plainly is a short course that explains AI in plain English: what it is, where it already shows up in daily life, how to use it well, and when to double-check it. Lessons take a few minutes each, and Sandra, our presenter, welcomes you in.
What's free?
The first six modules, 22 lessons in all, are free, along with the glossary and a Daily Moment every day. Keep a seven-day streak and a bonus lesson unlocks too. You don't need an account or a credit card to read them.
Can I try the paid modules before buying?
Yes. In the Library, pick any one paid module and read its first lesson free. The choice is yours, and it can't be changed later.
What does the purchase include?
One purchase unlocks the full library: 13 more modules and 52 more lessons, on topics from health and money to privacy, family, travel and work. It is a one-time purchase, not a subscription, so there is nothing to renew or cancel.
How do I restore my purchase on a new iPhone or iPad?
Sign in with the same Apple Account you used to buy Plainly. Then open the app, go to the Progress tab and tap Restore Purchase. You'll also find Restore Purchase on the unlock screen. If an approval is pending through Ask to Buy, the library unlocks on its own once it's approved.
I have an offer code. Where do I enter it?
Open the link that came with your code. On iOS 16.3 or later, you can also open the Progress tab in Plainly and tap Redeem a Code. Some codes can be entered in the App Store app from your account page as well.
How do refunds work?
Purchases are processed by Apple, so refunds are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. If you have a question about your purchase, contact us and we'll point you in the right direction.
Do I need an account? What do you collect?
No account is needed and none can be created. Your progress, streak and settings are stored on your device. Plainly doesn't track you or collect personal information. See the privacy policy for details.
Can I make the text bigger?
Yes. Tap Aa at the top of any lesson to move between Standard, Large and Extra large. Your choice is remembered.
How do reminders work?
You can turn on one daily reminder at a time you choose, and an optional streak alert at 8:00 PM that only arrives on a day you haven't opened Plainly. Both are in the Progress tab, and both are off unless you turn them on.
